Willow and Devin. The terrified dog, snapping at people, emaciated, neglected…into the most regal, sweet girl. Willow passed away a few years ago, at 11 1/2, having beaten the albino life expectency of 7-9 years. We know why…she was deeply loved and cared for.
About Us
The Whispering Willow Dog Rescue is located in North Ft. Worth. We are a federally recognized charitable organization, 501C3, and are incorporated in Texas. Our focus is on saving dogs from “death row” and working with the community to reduce the number of dogs who end up in the shelters, unwanted, alone and afraid. We specialize in hospice care for pets nearing the end of their lives.
Our name is a tribute to our very first rescue dog, Willow. Willow was on death row in Virginia, labeled unadoptable due to albinism and fearful behaviors having been severely abused and thrown away on a highway. We adopted Willow and through a year of rehabilitation turned her from afraid and aggressive into a loving, sweet girl who was an elegant princess and nanny to our dog pack. Willow taught us that there is hope, even for a dog that was so severely mistreated….they can come back with the right love and training.
